Merryvale Starmont Cabernet 2005
A family-owned winery that has been turning out exceptional wines for 25 years. In 2006 they opened their new Starmont Winery – a state-of-the-art “green” facility.
This may be the company’s third tier label, but the finished product is first class. A blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc marry to produce a full-bodied wine with dense black fruit flavors and tamed tannins. A long, layered finish . This is what California Cabernet is all about. Will be even better after a couple of years in the cellar.
We enjoyed this wine with grilled rib eye steaks. Perfect. $18 at Costco.
